I wa told open office is your product. I try to open a document, it appears as if its going to open but doesn't. How do i get it to open?

I have some open office documents stored in a backup folder. Everytime I try to open one, it will appear as if it's going to open but doesn't. How can I open this document. It's originally a wps file

You were incorrectly informed. OpenOffice has never been a part of or produced by Mozilla.

Also, there is a group that left OpenOffice when Apache acquired OpenOffice and formed a new group and created a new product called LibreOffice. You will need to determine which you have installed and/or if the files are interchangeable/readable between OpenOffice and LibreOffice.
