What I'm getting at is this: I can have multiple desktops on my mac os x mtn. lion. I would like to open a different instance of ff on another desktop pane. Is this possible? What happens now is, if I go to one of my other desktops and click ff it sends me back to my original desktop where I opened the first instance of ff. Any suggestions? Thanks!

OK, I got my answer by asking the people at Apple. All you have to do is go the the desktop where you want to open a new instance of FF and right click on the icon and select new window - and voila - a new instance of FF is now available to me on desktop 2 as well as it staying open on desktop 1.
