hello nieriel, are youusing a norton product by any chance? http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/NIS-2013-Norton-Toolbar-Unselects-Firefox-Remember-Passwords/td-p/836598

Question owner

not using norton no, i have trend micro, but saying that. it was working before during and after i had trend micro, and just suddenly stoped working and if u uninstall firefox it will work again ( i did this a few days ago uninstalled and then installed and woola passwords working again)

only to have them do the same thing, not being asked to save passwords, and the box not clickable in the options...
ill read the norton advice and see if that translates to trendmicro
