how do i clear this pain in the butt site from opening when i launch Firefox
Chosen solution
It is likely that it installed together with some sort of programs. Some of them will protect browser settings even if the toolbar is uninstalled itself. What you should do. 1. Run Adwcleaner from bleepingcomputer.com 2. Make sure everything is uninstalled or reset your browser settings manually (22find will affect other browsers as well) 3. Scan with anti-malware programs for trojans.

hello. if your manual changes don't 'stick' after a restart of the browser, please look out for any suspicious extensions (like 3rd-party-toolbars or things you have not installed intentionally) presently installed under firefox/tools > addons > extensions or the programs section of the windows control panel and remove those entries.
in case this doesn't solve the issue please try this: go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named user.js (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

did not work.
could not Remove the one reference to 22Find that i found using Add/Remove Programs
tried going to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/downloads/adwcleaner/ bleepingcomputer.com. That did not work as the site could not be found.
Tried http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-22find-com-redirect but when i entered the second instruction that requires that I use a RESET function, i found that that function was the only function that did not get highlighted in the list.
so, did not continue.
The link for adwcleaner is http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ my mistake.
