I have received an encrypted email with smime.p7m which contains (as the sender says) a pdf attachment, but I can't open it although I have download and install the adequate add-on for firefox. What can I do?

Firefox doesn't handle such e-mail.

Are you sure that you do not mean Thunderbird?
