I have version 9.0. I spend all of this time pinning tabs that I use frequently so I have easy access to them. This is literally the 3rd time this has happened to me!!!!! Why isn't this more stable really!

I did everything I have read to do. When it restarts, the screen doesn't even come up to restore. Some update to some other app came up. Under Tools-Options- I ALWAYS have Show Windows and Tabs from last time. Never changed that. I haven't cleared recent history. What gives?

1) What do I have to do to stop this from happening? 2) Where are the Pinned tabs saved so if it does happen I can restore them? 3) Can I clear my cache and cookies only w/o having these disappear (which I haven't done but would like to know)?

I know I don't have any virus b/c I recently tried this on my other computer and this darn thing does the same thing! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting, that is usually a more reliable way to restore session data.

If you use cleanup software like CCleaner then make sure that Session is unchecked in the settings for the Firefox application.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).
