How do I get my incoming email to list at the top of my already downloaded email?

When I download my email it tends to spread out over my previous read email listing. How do I get it to download at the top of my read email. At one time it used to do that. For some reason I lost that feature.

Hi,

Please see the Thunderbird forum. You may be able to do that via View > Sort or by clicking on the date header. Please also see this.

It did not help at all. It still spreads out through out my ole undeleted email. Could you try to give me simple clear instructions. i know it can be done as i did it before. I just can't remember how. Joshsider@netzero.net
