Chosen solution

On the menu, select New Tab -> New Window. This will run two separate windows but only one copy of Firefox. Alternatively, you can use separate tabs by selecting New Tab.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. The new tab is good because I can open multiple sessions without multiple copies of Firefox. I have now found (by accident and following your suggestions) that clicking next to the close (X) top right - called restore down - I can simulate what I am after.

Helped a lot any other ideas?

Thanks
