I have Firefox 8. I am running vista.

Firefox should load the homepage, Set to aol.com, but it won't load anything. The browser just shows a white dotted box for an icon. It says Connecting.. for 3 seconds and stops.

IE can open every website. I have a stable internet connection. I have allowed Firefox through my firewall.

Just need help loading any page possible.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
