Why must I log-in to my hotmail a/c each time with my i.d and password?

Previous to a few weeks ago I got to hotmail with Firefox remembering my bookmark and logging me in directly. Now Microsoft seems to have changed something which requires me to enter my user i.d and password each time I try to access my hotmail account.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you on is stored in a cookie.

Make sure that you keep cookies from the domain(s) that Microsoft uses for Hotmail.
You can manage the permissions for all domains on the about:permissions page via the location bar.


Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
