My lines on most of my websites I need overlap even after I updated to Firefox 8.

November 18, 2011.

I use Humana and CVS drug store on line. When I open the windows the lines and words overlap since I upgraded to Firefox 8.

When this happens, I have to go IE 8, copy and past the sites so that I can read the page.

CVS

With the CVS website, on the older versions of firefox 3, the entire page would be white, without the red borders. Then if I wish to look at sales, I cannot read the pages, because all the words are overlapped either by line over line or horizontally.

MyHumana

The same happens on this web site.

My GMail is fine and iGoogle homepage is good. I have watched the video about the new version. I am not ready for Firefox 8 if I cannot solve this problem.

I do know about the IE Tabs but I am a creature of habit, and prefer to have IE 8 on my desktop. I love Firefox- much faster than IE 8. I do not

BTW, my top line on the webpage now has: 1. File, Edit, View, History,Bookmarks, Tools, Help 2. New Tabs 3. Backspace, forward, home, WOT. Google search box,

    Bing

4. My favorite menu bar for my home page, newspaper,

   library, weather, and games.

I believe all this carried over from Firefox 3. I was afraid I would lose passwords and bookmarks.

Would it be better to re-download Firefox 7, and have it erase all my information after I print information of things I want to keep especially the passwords.

Chosen solution

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems, make sure that the window is not maximized:

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

--- You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

My home page does not look like this. Where is the (File - Edit - View - History - Bookmarks - Tools - Help )

I am wondering if this is what is causing all my web sites to overlap.

  • Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
  • Use "Firefox > Options" instead of "Tools > Options" if the menu bar is hidden.

cor-el,

I have discovered how to make my top menu bar look like "getting started with FF." I had rt. click and hide it. Now the F10 button works.

So I will keep playing with the pages and find out what I did to mess up the web pages.

Thank you for your help and patience.
