Chosen Solution
One change when using Firefox's safe mode is that hardware acceleration is disabled.
- see Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL_turning-off-hardware-acceleration
- does turning off hardware acceleration help ?
Resetting toolbars and controls, and user set preferences may also need considering. What about the theme if any that you use, try with the default theme.
