Will not open, small box scree only. Something flashes to & from icon.

Messg from firefox stated "this is embarassing" & stated I may have something open. Unable to open firefox since. Very small home page will open at bottom of screen but can do nothing but close it. Something will flash from there very quicky to the right is I click on the screen. Flashes back when I click on small screen again. Tried uninstallin firefox and reinstalling it - nothing changed. Unable to open firefox.

Firefox's window might be off screen. That is not supposed to happen, but has been reported before.

You could try starting up Firefox with the following page which has a script to reposition to window:

http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/resize.html

Copy that URL, then close all Firefox windows. Click the Windows 7 start "orb" and paste the URL into the search box. Then press Enter. Does the page appear? If so, try closing Firefox normally and then restarting to see whether that position is remembered.
