text input boxes same colour as background - so "invisible", and button text or buttons often missingt

All addons/plugins/extensions disabled.........

1: Text input boxes have same colour as background - hence invisible - I've checked this and it doesn't happen to all sites.

2: Google image is absent, and the "search" button next to the query bar is blank - this is also true of what appears to be a clickable button (pop-up "insert link here") that shows only 2 black vertical lines.

3: Another example - just noticed "Post Question" just appears as text - doesn't seem to be in any sort of control
