Customisation is lost when I restart Firefox

Recently, my computer blue-screened and performed a memory dump. Since then, all of my customisation options seem to have been lost - for example:

  • What firefox does when I open a new window
  • All of my extension options (the home page of every extension opens and asks me to agree to various addon terms and conditions
  • My persona reverts to the default
  • My menu bar customisations are lost.

Every time I close and re-open Firefox, the same thing happens again. All of the customisation data seems to be temporary.

Check your profile directory that you don't have extra files for such files as prefs.js like with (1) (2) (3) included in the file name if a file cannot be rewritten because it is write-protected. To open your profile directory use about:support typed into your location bar then click on "Open Containing Folder".
