what versions of firefox will not allow skype to work?
I recently got a popup saying that I should update my firefox. But it also said that skype would not work with the update. Has anything been done to correct this or should I not do the update yet?

Versions of Skype earlier than version 5.2.0.7165 are "soft blocked".
- Here is the blocklist; Skype is about the 8th item down
- Read the announcement posted January 20, 2011 (read the 3rd paragraph carefully): https://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/01/20/blocking-the-skype-toolbar-in-firefox/
- It is Skype's responsibility to see that their Add-ons for ANY BROWSER, not just Firefox, works correctly.
- You may simply need to update your Skype software
- Here is Skype's support page: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10933/How-do-I-enable-Click-and-Call-on-Mozilla-Firefox?frompage=search&q=browser+compatib&fromSearchFirstPage=false
- There is a link on the above page to the most recent version 5.3 of Skype

Firefox doesn't actually block Skype or keep it from working, Firefox blocks older versions of the Skype extension for Firefox which really isn't needed to use Skype. That extension just adds hyperlinks to web pages displayed in Firefox that allow you to dial a phone number on a web page by clicking on the hyperlink instead of dialing the phone number in Skype manually.
No, when I got the anouncement to update firefox, in the instructions it actually said that skype will not work with it.
It said skype will not workm not that the toolbar for the dialing numbers.
The only connection or impact Firefox could have with the separate Skype program is with the Skype extension.
Look in "Tools->Add-ons->Extensions" to see if you have Skype extension listed.

As i said earlier, but messed up the wording. When I got the message to update firefox it said that skype would not work, not that the toolbar wouldn't. I took a chance and did the upgrade of firefox and skype seems to still be working. So I guess right now this is a moot point.

I'll hit the solved it button, but I didn't get an answer. Seems like no one has had the same problem, or has an answer for it.
