Is there any way to have the bookmarks bar appear only on a new tab page? (like in Chrome)

I would like the bookmarks bar (on top of the page, just below the 'awesome bar') to appear, but only on a new tab, not on tabs with content in them (Chrome has this option). Is this possible? Maybe with an add-on if not natively in Firefox.
