My Boss is crazy...lol..he wants me to remove the back and forward buttons from all of our Firefox browsers, to limit employee misuse of internet.

I am not looking for a scripting solution. I am looking for a Firefox settings solution.

Thanx in advance for all the help

Chosen solution

  1. Right click on blank spot in any of the toolbars at the top of the FF window. A dropdown menu appears.
  2. Choose the last option - Customise... a Customise Toolbar appears.
  3. Move your mouse cursor over the back and forward buttons. The mouse cursor should now look like a hand.
  4. Drag the back & forward buttons onto the customise toolbar. (They will disappear from the Navigation toolbar.)
  5. Click done on the Customise toolbar

Is there a way to disable the hotkeys (alt+left/right) also?

Not that I'm aware of - at least, not in the basic Customise or Tools - Options windows.

It might be one of the entries in the about:config area but I'm not knowledgeable about that. As you've marked this question as solved you will need to ask that as a new question in order to have it answered.
