I have no background images no pictures

You might check whether pictures are blocked on that site. Right-click a blank area of the page and choose

View Page Info > Permissions tab

Under Load Images, re-check "Use default" if that is not checked.

Make sure that you allow pages to use their colors and also that you haven't switched on High Contrast in Windows.
