Why are the pictures in Windows Live / Skydrive photo albums not visible ?
Icons are grey.
Pictures are visible with IE9.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
- Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
- Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:
- Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
See:
- Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
- Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
- Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
- Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block images.
Thanks cor-el, but none of the above provided the solution.
Seems I an not alone with this problem, see ....

Did you see any of the missing images grayed in Tools > Page Info > Media ?
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
- Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
- Click the website favicon (How do I tell if my connection to a website is secure?) on the left end of the location bar.
- Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
- Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
- Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
- If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
No images info greyed in list Tools > Page Info > Media. Block images checkbox is blank Tried this as suggested in questions/763773
Tried IE9 again icons & images are OK. Tied going back to FF 3.6.17 but the problem is still there.
This is a recent problem (after installing FF4),

THIS WORKED ..... (last option above, many thanks cor-el)
Open "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
Check "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults"
Click "Make changes & start FF"
