I unistalled 4.0 and downloaded 3.6 but 3.6 doesn't open

I never had a problem with Firefox 3.6 but I downloaded 4.0 and that version would not open. I restored my computer to the previous day and 3.6 wouldn't open. I uninstalled Firefox completely then reinstalled 3.6 but it still won't open.
