Secure Site indicator & File menu changes
Greetings All,
Just loaded the new SUSE 11.4 and it came with the Firefox 4 beta. Some things have changed from version 3 that are not goodness from my point of view.
The "lock" indicator for secure sites appears to be gone. This used to show up in the lower right hand corner when I connected using https. I've come to rely on this flag when entering sensitive info. Is it someplace else? If not, is there some way I can turn it on again?
The other change that is driving me batty is the FILE menu. The location of the OPEN in New Window & OPEN in New TAB has been reversed from version 3. From a good number of years of web surfing, I have gotten into the habit of opening a new window using the first item on the menu. Now it has changed. Please tell me there is some way to customize this to return to the "normal" menu organization.
Thanx in advance.

The lock is in the SIB display window now. The old Statusbar lock is gone, along with the Statusbar which was replaced by the Add-on-bar.
2. Yep, a lot of 4.0RC users are complaining about the swap of those two menu items. You can use userChrome.css code to reverse those menu items to their former order, or rearrange then using the Menu Editor extension.

Thanx for clarifying the Lock issue. Although I do get a bit more info by clicking on the SIB, it is a bit less convenient than to have the lock displayed automatically. Guess this is change I will have to live with...
I tried to install the Menu Editor, but it does not seem to want to install on
this particular Firefox version. Where is the userChrome.css? Is this source
to modify, or some option file that can be edited? Since a lot of folks other than myself are complaining, does it mean that the menu items may be restored to their original order in the future?
Thanx again.
