how to change in registry number of sites remembered in address bar??
I changed a number somewhere in the registry so the address bar would not remember anything, instructions were provided by firefox, I did not print them so I could go back and change after firefox fixed the problem with the address bar making too many suggestions, that seems to have been rectified now I would like to change it back.

Firefox does not use the registry for storing preferences. You probably used the Firefox configuration page to make the change.
- Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Locate the preference browser.urlbar.maxRichResults and double-click on it to change its value to the number of results to display. The default is 12.
This isn't where I was to change, it told me to go to registry and change a number to 0
Firefox does not store preferences in the registry, it uses the about:config page. If you set the preference in my first post to 0 it would stop the location bar from showing any entries.
Make sure that the Location Bar is not set to "Nothing":
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Location Bar: When using the location bar, suggest: History, Bookmarks, History and Bookmarks
I am sure I had to change a figure in the reg to 0, just can't remember how to make address bar remember anything always have to type in address. I even uninstalled and reinstalled firefox to no avail.
Use go back feature to restore your system to a time before you edited registry or even better reinstall the registry backup you made before editing.
Firefox does not store user settings in the registry, a registry backup will not help.
You can use "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the Safe mode start window to reset all Firefox preferences to their default values if you are not sure which changes you made.
