Looking for a way to export bookmarks to an actual folder
I've searched through google, addons, and support and haven't found anything that fits. I was hoping to find a way to export all of my bookmarks (particularly my bookmarks bar bookmarks) to an actual folder (not a file). This would allow me to better manage my bookmarks and mix in some old ones that were saved in a literal folder structured format. What would be even better would be if you could also tell me a way to actively store my bookmarks bar bookmarks in a folder instead of a file. I apologize if this is in the wrong place I simply tried to find a way to contact you and this is what I found. Thanks in advanced.

Sorry, Firefox does everything with bookmarks in single files, not folders. Bookmarks are stored in the places.sqlite file in your Profile folder, Bookmark backups are in a JSON file, and when you "export" bookmarks they are in bookmarks.html format.
Firefox does not work like IE, with a "Favorites" folder with separate .url files in that folder.

Interesting that IE does that (I hate IE though). The thing I'm looking for though is a way around this. I already knew about the whole storage and exportation system within firefox (I did my research before posting). If it wasn't like that then I would have just went to the folder in Win Explore and managed them the way I want. I was hoping to find a way to export/import them in a folder format or override the existing system with a folder system.
I also do my best to avoid using IE.
I often have multiple profiles & multiple users, some using IE, with their own bookmarks, it is still possible to mix and match to a certain extent, bookmarks can be exported as HTML eddited and reimported, they will append to existing bookmarks as you import them.
You can import one JSON into another new profile and use that profile to reorganise the bookmarks as required before re-exporting. If you really want to break the folders apart and modify them externally I guess there are sqlite editors that could be used. There are of course many addons available for working with bookmarks, but firefox mostly meets my needs as it is.
From what I have seen with different web browsers, IE is the only one that uses separate "Windows Explorer" folders for storing bookmarks / favorites. Most other browsers are cross-platform like Firefox, and they each have their own unique way of their storing bookmarks that is cross-browser compatible. I am curious how IE favorites were handled on Mac OS, when MS was doing a Mac version of IE?
IMO, you should try using a simple HTML editor or maybe even a simple text editor, to re-arrange your bookmarks, using a bookmarks.html export file.
Editing an HTML bookmarks file can also be done within Firefox with the edit page bookmarklet from this website - https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/misc.html - (Jesse is one of the Firefox developers) - when you engage Caret browsing.

Using the keyboard commands for cut, copy, and paste you should be able to re-arrange your bookmarks. But to be safe, make sure you keep saving the bookmarks.html file you are editing, in case you make a mistake in editing - there is no un-do.

I believe I've found a way: I installed TidyFavorites add on and it's program. Since I don't use IE at all and IE uses the format I like I imported everything into TidyFavorites then after deleting my favorites from IE I exported to there. To be on the safe side I then moved the files to another location where I've begun modifying them. Once finished with my editing I can erase everything in FF, Opera, and TidyFavorites then do an import. Thanks for all the help, it's what ultimately led me to this conclusion.
By creating another profile and seeing visualizing side by side, you can drag and drop nicely. Once done, copy all to your default profile. This was the other thread: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/831118
