I receive a message when I start Firefox: firefox.exe - application error, the application failed to initialized properly (0xc0000005), click OK to terminate the application

When I start Mozilla Firefox I receive this warning firefox.exe-application error The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application When I click OK usually a couple of times, the message disappears and I can connect to internet. I read that it could be a virus. What to do?

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ can be of help to update outdated plugins.

You can disable all plug-ins in Tools, Addons, Plugins once Firefox starts.
