How come I am not able to open new tabs? I clicked on new tab and I've tried to click on the + sign next to the current tab, but still I am not able to.

Try disabling the Ask Toolbar extension. Other users have reported that extension as causing a problem like that in Firefox 3.6.13.

If that isn't the problem, do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
