Why Firefox made automatic update even if I had specially unchecked "check updates for firefox" option?

I hate when software wastes my time for updates. Usually this happens when you are most hurry. I always uncheck option for automatic updates. But Firefox still wasted my time and made unwanted update. Therefore I know now that Firefox is a malware and removed it from my system.
