no sound in firefox

I downloaded the latest version and now I do not have sound in Firefox. I have checked to make sure the volume mixer is not muted however firefox does not show up in the mixer. I made sure I was on a site that has sound but still nothing.

I do not use Vista, and can not help directly. Have you looked at What to do if Firefox won't play any sounds and have you tried with more than one site, and different types of sound file.
