I can only connect to websites when I use 'https'. Without the 's', I just get a blank screen, and 'done' in the bottom left. Also happens with IE. Just started happening, worked fine last week.

Had a mild virus. Used Malwarebytes and Spybot to fix. Also, use McAfee. After virus cleaned up (apparently), this started happening. As long as I put an 's' in, the browser works.

I figured it out. Somehow, my Firefox's settings got changed to use a proxy server (whatever that is).

Under Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Connection -> Settings.... change to 'No Proxy" and see if that fixes your problem. It worked for me.
