@morbus thanks for replying the web page looks fine, the only thing that seems to fit your link is "Scripts blocked" and i have javascript enabled. when i click "submit" (comment) nothing happens (i am logged on to the web site) works ok in chrome.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in safe mode (don't forget to select Disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See this article for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and this one for plugins.

If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there.

@morbus no joy in safe mode, tried ie8 works fine. something is blocking this

Can you please try it in a new (temporary) Firefox profile and see if the issue is still present? See this article to know how to create a new Firefox profile. Please report back the results.

hello morbus bingo!!! new profile works fine! this begs another question, am i going to have to start over and build this profile from scratch? how much can i "copy" from the broken one?

This is an indicator that there's something wrong with your profile indeed. You may want to copy the info from one profile to another (see this article].

But if you want to find out what's wrong with your own profile, please go into Help > Troubleshooting Information... (alternatively, access about:support in your location bar) and click "Copy all to clipboard". Then paste here. Hopefully that will give me a bit more information to work with.

I'm sorry I wasn't specific. Can you please do that in safe mode, with add-ons disabled?

In any case, I think I know where the problem is:

network.http.request.max-start-delay

Go into about:config (that's an address) and search for it. Then right click it and select Reset. I think the problem should be gone then.

There is another way to fix your profile, but let's please use up all possibilities. Thank you for your patience.

@Morbus thank you for your help, before i got your last post i uninstalled ff and deleted all files etc. reinstall fresh and everythings ok. the main cause of my problems seems to have been with "cookie whitelist" which even being disabled still interfered with ff? thank you
