Question was concerning Fireshot PRO! I made the horrible mistake of accepting what seemed to be a free offer of addon of Fireshot Pro to Firefox. It installed fine, but then after 30 days, I started getting messages telling me that the Pro version expired after 30 days. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Fireshot (NOT the Pro version) numerous times, but after reinstalling, the *&^%!@) 30 day expired message still pops up. There is NO help at the Fireshot vendor website, unless you ARE a paying customer already. Vendors should NOT aggravate potential customers with this type of software that just will NOT go away or uninstall. Very unfriendly and extremely annoying. Now, I do not have the freebie Fireshot.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

I had this problem and tried several methods. But failed. But found that the registry date cleaning will work.

First uninstall the FireShot (Better you can uninstall form all browsers)

Then go to regedit (Start menu-> Run REGEDIT) and search for Fireshot and screenshot (Ctrl+F)

Delete the records [**Please read some post regarding REGEDIT before doing this] or what ever contains about the Fireshot or Screnshot (There is a separate folder with lots of data, **but read some more articles about registry editor).

Then reinstalled the Fireshot add-on. Works well.

This works fine. But I wish someone can help (Descriptive registry details removing) with better tech support with this hint.

Please let me know where you have successfully uninstall the fireshot with expiration notice and install it back.

Thanks!

Like many others I have found Fireshot to be a very useful add-in and am outraged that I can no longer access the free version.

However, I have found a simple solution. As this involves editing the Registry please USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

PROCEDURE

=

  1. Start>Run...>Type "regedit" in the box.
  2. Click "OK"
  3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Screenshot Studio for Firefox
  4. Right-click on "fx_prokey" and modify the current value "yes" to "no".
  5. Close Regedit.
  6. Reboot.
  7. Fireshot now operates as before.

This works for me (Windows 7, Firefox 8 and Fireshot 0.95).

I hope that this will be useful to others.
