back,forward,reload and exit buttons grayed out with version 3.66

When I navigate to another site, there is no way to go back. The back button is grayed out. Also, I am not extremely 'techy' so must have 'easy' or detailed steps for solution if possible please. :(

I am the poster of this question. did not know how to edit it?? Anyway, I restarted my computer which fixed the problem for now. In the link you provided, exactly which part of it do I need to do for this issue? There were several 'problems' listed with solutions. In case it happens again, which part of the article is relevant to my issue? Thanks for your patience.
