FF will not open up because it asks me to update to 3.6 even though I've already updated it several times.

Every time Firefox opened

1. Have you reinstalled Firefox from getfirefox.com?

If reinstalling did not help, we need to remove your update configuration files. They consist of the following:

  • active-update.xml
  • updates.xml
  • Your Updates Folder

In Windows XP, this is located in C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox

In Windows Vista, this is located in C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox'

I was asked if I reinstalled FF, but I am not computer savvy so I have to ask what does one do to "reinstall" FF?

N Bain,

To reinstall Firefox, go to http://www.getfirefox.com . Install it over your installation

Installing Firefox

When I click on Install FF 3.6.3, it asks me to save the file. If I save the file, then what do I do?
