How to backup my local folder?

I don't HAVE a gmail any more, but Thunderbird wants to login to gmail every time I open it

Check your calendars, and address books. Do you still have any of those trying to connect to Google?

Not as far as I can see. The google accounts I had have been completely deleted, not only from Thunderbird, but completely deleted, discontinued, erased .... :)

Well, the point isn't about whether you deleted your Google account, but whether there is still something left in Thunderbird attempting to connect to a Google server.

Okey, that was tricky to find :) My Thunderbird spoke Danish and there wasn't this function. Now it speaks English, but the troubleshooting information seems to be far too long for this text box.

That is exactly what I wanted to do, and why I asked advise how to properly save the local folder, as it is not stored in any of the accounts. That is, I want to export it in a way, that makes it easy to reimport again later, when I set the other accounts too. I can't find a way to save it as f.ex. a pst.file.

Create the new profile, then close Thunderbird. Locate your old profile, and copy everything underneath Mail\Local Folders. Paste it into the new profile underneath Mail\Local Folders. Start Thunderbird.
