Email includes signature from html file and plain text

When I send an email with my HTML file signature Thunderbird appends a text signature as well. The text signature is not visible in the draft email, and is not in the settings. The text signature is added for separate identity with no signature enabled. I want to stop this. Any ideas please?

I don't know if it will help, but seeing a screenshot of your HTML sig may offer ideas. Thank you.

Hi David, Thanks for taking an interest. I hope it helps. I suspect it is a left over from when I was setting up the email account in Thunderbird. Regards, Nic

I suggest keeping only what is inside the BODY tags, but do NOT include the BODY tags. That is because thunderbird already does that. What you are doing is creating a second email within the email.
