Toggling off "Stories" doesn't turn them off

Hi folks!

My Firefox just updated and I'm now receiving the recommended stories (along with the widgets and recent activity.) when I open a New Tab. I was able to disable the widgets and activity and I see the place where I can turn off the Stories, but they are not going away.

In the "Customize" menu accessible via the pencil icon on the New Tab page, toggling Stories off does not make them go away; reloading the page, the toggle is re-enabled.

In the general Settings menu, accessible via the hamburger menu and under "Home and startup," I have Stories ("Exceptional content curated by the Firefox family") toggled off. The toggle does not reset, but the stories still display.

How can I fix this? Thank you all very much in advance.

Hi,

Sorry you experience this. It's a bug that's being looked into. We believe that the following workaround should help: in regular Firefox Settings (Settings > Home and startup > toggles under Firefox Home), re-enable stories and then disable them again. Could you please confirm if that works for you?

That did it. Wonderful! Thank you so much!
