Why do my bookmarks keep disappearing?

Every week for the past 4 months, my bookmarks disappear for a few hours then reappear with no logical reason. Why is that? I try restarting but it doesn't work.

Quick Fix!

Click the three horizontal lines (Menu) in the top-right corner of Firefox. Click on Help at the bottom, then choose More Troubleshooting Information. Scroll down the long page until you find a section titled Places Database. Look next to the word Integrity and click the Verify Integrity button. The screen will pause for a few seconds, and then a block of text will appear below the button. If it says anything about errors, corruption, or "rebuilding," the repair script has successfully done its job.
