Thunderbird did not pull e mails from the old computer (via USB storage)

Hi,

I was transferring the Thunderbird folder to my new laptop, and it can not open emails. Although I can see that the Contacts have been copied. I was following the instructions via some of the YouTube videos. This is not my first time I have done this, but now, for some strange reason, it can not open emails.

I have purchased Windows 11 Pro N to my new laptop and now I am stucked.

Can you help me?

Tiho

Try it this way.

Copy TB files from the old PC

- launch TB on the old PC

- go to TB menu > Help > Troubleshooting Information

- click the Application Basics > Profile Folder 'Open Folder' button

- the profile folder will open

- navigate three levels up to the AppData\Roaming folder

- close TB

- copy the AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird folder to a flash drive

---

Paste the copied TB files to the new PC

- open the AppData\Roaming folder on the new PC like you did above

- delete the Thunderbird folder

- replace it with the Thunderbird folder from the flash drive

- launch TB

Hi Ed,

Thank you for your response. I have done it this way, for the first time, and it was OK. After a few weeks, we have purchased Windows OS 11 Pro N, and I have installed it on the same laptop, but before that, I have done a backup as it was suggested.

Do you think that Bitdefender can cause the blockade of the proces?

Thank you,

Tiho
