How do I clear the Draft folder automatically when sending the original email?

Thunderbird creates a draft of every email sent and stores it in the Draft folder. There should only be 1 draft for every email sent, and, it should be removed when the original email is sent. It seems that a draft is created every time I pause editing to look at something else on my Laptop. I get multiple drafts and they are never removed.

I am on Windows 11. Thunderbird ver: 148.0 (64-bit) Is there a setting I can change to make the draft work correctly?

That happens because the account is IMAP and each time Thunderbird issues a save, a new copy is created. To avoid that, set your drafts folder to Local Folders instead.
