Hi im trying to setup auto filtering for my IMAP account. The IMAP account already moves files to subfolders. But i still need to apply my custom auto filtering to them aswell.

This old post (https://www.thunderbird-mail.de/lexicon/entry/70-filter-erstellen-und-verwenden/) says it works with `mail.imap.filter_on_new` set to true. (It does not work for me!)

While this newer post (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/organize-your-messages-using-filters) says it doesnt.

Am i doing things wrong? Is it bugged? Is there no way to do it?

Thanks in advance! :D

Are you running filters on the subfolders? Note that filters only run automatically on the Inbox, but can be run manually on any folder.

Yes my idea was running automatical filters on the subfolders (They do work manually). But you sound like it doesn't work automatically. Is there any reason this isn't implemented for subfolders aswell?

Automatic on the Inbox only has been standard since the birth of TB, although extending it to other folders has been discussed: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428574

You might be able to achieve the desired effect by creating one or more filters with multiple rules (match any/all of the following).
