Unable to set up email "User is authenticated but not connected"

I get a notification that includes this message when I try setting up my outlook account and this prevents me from getting mail to my email in Thunderbird, not past or new emails show up and I can only view an empty inbox, contrasting my other emails which work perfectly fine.

When I try setting up my email It says my username or password is wrong when it isn't and when it input, and that I have to put in my login. I put my login in and it says my username and password are incorrect even though my login info is correct I don't know what's going on, the error info isn't very helpful.

I'm not sure if there's a waiting period after IMAP is enabled, but I doubt it. When you add the account, first make sure the account hub is disabled in Settings/General, and add from ≡ - New Account - Email. Check that cookies are accepted in TB (not browser) Settings/Privacy & Security, as this is necessary for OAuth2 authentication (if you had to enter your address manually in the OAuth window, it means cookies aren't accepted). If the account setup routine doesn't automatically enter these settings:

incoming IMAP: outlook.office365.com, 993, SSL/TLS, OAuth2, email address

outgoing SMTP: smtp.office365.com, 587, STARTTLS, OAuth2, email address

edit them manually. The (working) account password need only be entered in the OAuth2 window on first connection to allow TB access. Disable a VPN if one is present.

This usually happens when IMAP hasn't been enabled in outlook.com webmail Settings/Mail/Forwarding and IMAP.

I have Enabled IMAP and now I get an error box, and I did what it says: I fill in the "your login" section and it throws another error "Authentication failed. Please check username and password." I went as far as resetting my password. Is there something I'm missing, or do I have to wait a while for IMAP to sync with Microsoft servers?

Turns out the config for outgoing smtp was "smtp-office365.com" and I just had to replace the "-" with a ".", thank you very much for your time!
