my os crashed reloaded with zorin & want to continue with t/bird. i have a backup .thunderbird flashdrive. i dont have any password. zorin comes t/bird installed.can someone help to reinstate my system

My os crashed. I have been a t.bird user for years. Luckilly took a backup file .thunderbird on flashdrive very recntly. new zorin loaded and comes with t.bird installed. i have no password. i have not yet done anything and ask for step by step help i have opened t.bird abd it asks for email and password. i did not enter anything

DId you get this resolved? I don't know Zorin, but I'm familiar with Linux Mint. There, I click the file viewer, the click to show hidden folders and the ..thunderbird folder appears. Replacing that with a copied .thunderbird folder works. But, if that doesn't work for you, I suggest this: - locate the profile location on the drive. Normally, this can be done by clicking help>troubleshooting information, scrolling to 'profile folder', click 'open folder' and then exit thunderbird. that should place you in the profile. - at this point, open your backup .thunderbird, locate the desired profile folder, open it and copy all contents and paste into the active profile, overlaying the current contents. - restart thunderbird
