Why are you leaving outlook? I ask because for Thunderbird to import successfully Outlook has to be installed and fully functional if it had been giving issues then there may be corruption in the outlook store that prevents the import

What version of outlook to you have installed? When you import are you selecting everything? Do you get a different outcome if you select to import just mail or address books?
