Why is Google Search pinned to Firefox Suggest?

DebraBk replied
DebraBk

Google Search is pinned at the top of my Firefox Suggest list. (see the attached image)

Google Search is NOT my default search engine.

Where is this controlled/specified?

FF 145.0 Mint Linux/Cinnamon FF installed as system package not flatpack

Chosen Solution

Okay so here is the procedure as near as I can make it out...

1. Change New Tab settings from what I want to the "default - Firefox home screen." 2. Edit the default new tab screen to unpin Google search - something I would never have selected 3. Change the New Tab setting back to what I want it to be.

Gotcha!

It has been a couple of decades since I did user interface/application design, but that design needs a bit of work

It's because this website is pinned as the first tile on your new tab page.

My New Tab page is a blank page.

New Windows is set to display my homepage (custom URL)
