I have just upgraded to version 145 and the title bar has disappeared Even though I have the Title Bar option checked in the customize firefox panel. If I uncheck the title bar option and then check the title bar option, the title bar will appear, but when I close firefox and then restart firefox the title bar is gone.

That link correctly notes that there is a bug which prevents the title bar from always being displayed. This is a bug in 145 which only allows the title bar to be displayed during the current session.

Will this bug be addressed in a future update?

Thanks,

It has not been addressed in intermediate updates 145.0.1 or 145.0.2.

Another reason why the title bar needs to be persistent is that, in some situations, especially when moving between tabs or tabbing between windows, the user will be looking at a Firefox window that is not active and which will not respond to user input such as scrolling or mouse clicks. When that happens Windows will turn the title bar gray, alerting the user to the fact that the window is inactive. When the title bar is missing that important information is missing. The title bar must be made persistent across Firefox launches - it is an important feature which has been fatally crippled in 145.

I need the Title bar because the - (reduce screen) and X icons appear only there in. Other browser have those controls available on the Menu bar or otherwise always available. Since I use Windows, I use this feature when viewing multiple windows.

P.S. I know how to get it back, depress F11 2x. But it should be persistent when the controls are set that way.

Thanks,

Although maximize/minimize/close icons now appear in the menu bar, that does not solve the problem which this topic addresses. It is still an unsolved problem in 146.0. I am tempted to give up on Firefox and use Microsoft Edge. At least Microsoft doesn't deliver broken products which disable a core feature of Windows windows.

Same problem here since last update. f11 doesnt work for me and only way to close is to use task manager. I was going to uninstall and install a older version (https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/?_gl=1*1msl5b6*_ga*MTcwMjc4NzkwNC4xNzY2NzIxNDI2*_ga_2VC139B3XV*czE3NjY3MjE0MjYkbzEkZzEkdDE3NjY3MjI5OTYkajEwJGwwJGgw), but when I tried to, it asked if I wanted to repair. After repairing my close bar is back.

This is still an unsolved problem in 147. Things have actually gotten worse because the maximize/minimize/close icons which had been added to the menu bar have now disappeared. Now we have to go into the menu to close Firefox because there is no close icon. Why does Mozilla keep making things worse? Apparently nobody at Mozilla is capable of seeing that it is a problem when Firefox cannot remember a user's settings. It seems as though Mozilla doesn't care about its users anymore.

I suggest that those of you with this problem give up on the community forums, as the answer given above does not work. I ended up going to about:support and resetting Firefox. That creates a new default profile. It may take me a couple of hours to get Firefox set up the way that I want it in the new profile. I have to re-install extensions and set a boatload of settings to make everything work correctly. When I finish that I have to switch my other computers over to the new profile. I also have to change my backup program to backup the new profile. I am going to all of this trouble because of a problem not of our making.

That did not last. After a while the title bar went away again. I had to clear the startup cache to get it back. I have disabled the startup cache by using about:config to set browser.cache.disk.enable to false. We will see if that lasts.

It appears that my title bar problem resulted from one of two causes:

1) A Firefox setting caused it. If that is the case that is inexcusable.

or:

2) An unapproved extension caused it.

Only time will tell which is the cause.

Update: It looks like 1) is at fault. On my system unchecking "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" causes the problem. That is completely unforgiveable.
