My Thunderbird Local Folders are no longer alphabetized and some appear to have vanished
I am running Thunderbird 140.4.0esr (64-bit) on an iMac running macOS Sonoma 14.7.4. I have two email accounts on it, one my university account and one gmail. I have over 500 Local Folders used to keep track of my personal matters, correspondence and tax preparation matters. In the past three or four weeks, during which I updated my Tbird at least once, the Local Folders have become no longer alphabetized and at least one folder I can no longer find. I appears that the most recently used folders are moved to an alphabetized set at the end of my original set. It also appears that the list of folders differs slightly depending on which account from which the list is viewed. Why is this happening and how can I solve it?

Thanks for this lead, as I now believe that I should submit a new bug for TB 140 through Bugzilla as I cannot find this one by searching Bugzilla. I note, however, that there seem to have been multiple bugs already reported involving Local Folders.
Upon further examination, I must revise my description of the problem by retracting the claim that some folders have "vanished." In addition, when I use the "Move to" and "Copy to" functions, the target Folder receives the file successfully but is moved to the new alphabetical list of folders below the former alphabetical list of folders. This move does not occur when I drag-and-drop to move a file to the list.
However, I have found a new bug: when a folder is renamed, it is moved to an arbitrary location not in alphabetical order.

Please post the URL of the bug here if you file one.
The "recent" list doesn't care about which message an account is in.
