Hello,

Im struggling with adding second email account in the freshly downloaded Thunderbird on new PC. I tested on multiple PCs and the errors keeps repeating. It says the login information are incorrect but I know for sure they are correct. Exchange auth error it says. After multiple login tries the app just freezes and stop responding.

The first email account added is working fine. Thunderbird version 144.0.1. Windows 11

If you are using the account hub, go into Thunderbird settings (not account settings), general, turn it off, and try again to set up your account.

Thanks for the tip Rick, however I dont fully understand what should be turned off in the general settings.

I resolved the issue by installing old version of Thunderbird, logged in to all the accounts I needed and then updated very slowly to newer versions.

That approach works, as you've seen, but you will probably have the same problem if you try to add another account now. So you would still want to turn off the account hub.

Thunderbird settings > General > Account hub

Uncheck "Create accounts in the new Account Hub".
