Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS new installation. Thunderbird 140.3.1esr (64-bit) Adding an existing account Type in My name and email address and click Continue It says it is looking up configuration and it is just looping around and does not report an error. I have waited over an hour with no result. The only way to recover is to go to the taskbar and right click Quit. It would be helpful if there were away to know what is blocking the search for the configuration.

Chosen solution

check settings>general and see if the box for account hub is checked. If so, UNTICK it. see attached.
