Automatically opening Google Play Store every time I clear tabs
Every time I bring the app to 0 tabs, the application automatically sends me to the Firefox Nightly for Developers page on the Google Play Store, even after I've checked repeatedly that the application is its most recent version. This began WITH a prompt to update, which I found to be normal, but now it will not cease!

Hi
To clarify, are you using Firefox on an Android device or a desktop or laptop computer?

Hi! I manually put in the info, but it must not have actually added. I'm on Android.

Thank you for helping test a Nightly build.
Please appreciate that the Nightly builds are still very much under development and may have some unresolved issues.
Does the same issue still occur the Release build of Firefox for Android?
I am having this issue on Firefox Nightly for Android as well, as of yesterday. Current build info:
145.0a1 (Build #2016118311), 9220eca86af431fe7890a6100e7c352d2cc30d76 GV: 145.0a1-20251004093758 AS: 145.20251003050327 OS: Android 16
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch application from home screen 2. Open tab menu and press New Tab or press Open Tab (+) button on toolbar 3. Google Play will open to the Nightly page
It is extremely reproducible, happens every time.
I have tried restarting the phone. I have tried a complete uninstall and reinstall with a fresh profile and it was fine for about 12 hours and then started happening again.
It is not happening with main release Firefox for Android as of 143.0.3 (Build #2016117407)
Same thing. Version 144.0b9 Beta for Testers. Google Play opens automatically on startup. It's incredibly annoying. Read the comments in the marketplace. People are complaining about the same issues in the latest version. Personally, I don't even need to open a new tab. The browser automatically switches to Google Play on a cold start if it wasn't open before and isn't in the multitasking menu. P.S. I found out that the app opens the link http://market.android.com/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox_beta. Maybe this will help.

The workaround is to disable Custom Review Prompt Nimbus experiment. Instructions by @meticus. Note that I do not know how to disable the Debug mode now 🤷
- Activate debug mode. In Settings -> About, tap icon until you see the toast for enabling debug
- Disable the expriment. In Settings -> Nimbus Experiments -> Enable Custom Review Prompt (at the bottom) tap "control"
