CardDAV Addon to sync my gmail contacts

I am trying to use the CardDAV Addon to sync my gmail contacts. I installed the addon but it doesn't appear when I go to Tools then Address book and then I go to new and nothing is there for create a new Carddav address book. I hope you can help me!

Puzzling. CardDAV support is already in Thunderbird, so I question why use an addon. Just click the little icon to the left of the 'New Contact' button and the option is there.
